Apakah JLPT itu?

JLPT adalah ujian Kemampuan Bahasa Jepang sebagai sarana untuk mengevaluasi dan mensertifikasi kemampuan berbahasa Jepang. Ujian kemampuan bahasa jepang ini diselenggarakan oleh Japan Foundation dan Japan Educational Exchanges and Services sejak tahun 1984. Pada awalnya, ada sekitar 7.000 peserta ujian dari seluruh dunia. Kemudian pada tahun 2011, ada sebanyak 610.000 peserta ujian di seluruh dunia yang menjadikan JLPT sebagai tes bahasa Jepang berskala terbesar di dunia.

Seiring waktu, penggunaan hasil JLPT juga dijadikan sebagai alat ukur keterampilan untuk kualifikasi penerimaan karyawan baru dan juga sebagai evaluasi kerja untuk promosi dan kenaikan gaji. Untuk memastikan relevansi dan ketepatan yang berkelanjutan dari JLPT, Japan Foundation dan Japan Educational Exchanges and Services memperkenalkan versi tes yang direvisi pada tahun 2010. Tes baru ini didasarkan dari penelitian terbaru dalam teori pengujian, dan mencerminkan database yang sangat besar yang terkumpul sejak JLPT diluncurkan lebih dari 25 tahun yang lalu.

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test or JLPT is the world’s largest standardized test that measures Japanese language proficiency for people who do not speak Japanese as their mother tongue (non-native speakers). JLPT has been implemented for evaluating Japanese language knowledge, reading ability, and listening ability. Outside Japan, this test has been twice a year in July and December. To ensure the continuing relevancy and accuracy of the JLPT, the Japan Foundation and JEES (Japan Educational Exchanges and Services) introduced a revised version of the test in 2010.

JLPT results has been used as Japanese language skill measurement as a form of qualification, employment screening, and evaluation for promotions and pay raises.

JLPT Grammar

Japanese grammar could be difficult. For vocabulary and kanji, we can mastered it just by spending more time doing repetition and using it. But, grammar involves rules and exceptions, and meanings that are sometimes just not translatable. So how we mastering the grammar that we need to pass the JLPT?

JLPT tends to stress on the small nuances that come up with grammar usage. Knowing the difference between particles can mean a big difference in the exam. And being able to recognize a conjugation of a verb, adjective in the listening or reading section can clear up a lot of confusion. Because the JLPT can be stressfully strict and the test makers want to tease out all the common mistakes that learners make. There are times when an easy question might give us a confusion. The test makers really put a lot of thinking into making the test as difficult as possible within the specifications for that level, well at least for some questions.
